In just 5 hours, I will be boarding a plane and leaving the U.S. for three and half weeks, to go to Ghana. For those who aren't geography whizzes like the lady at Verizon who thought it was in South America, Ghana is located on the west coast of AFRICA!!
I am super pumped, a little nervous, but mostly excited and eager for adventure! We (myself and 15 other BYU nursing students) will be doing medical work in the country's capital, Accra, and a small village a few hours away called Abomosu. It's going to be hot, humid, and a lot of work! But I am so ready!
I don't really know much more than that. I know we will be doing a lot of healthy living teaching in the children's schools and at the LDS church, and I know we will be busy, busy, busy! But the rest, I guess will be a surprise!
I've packed my passport, mosquito repellant, sunscreen and malaria medication! I think that about covers it! Flight takes off soon!! Well...Here we gooooo!!
